Bizarre Error Message

I am getting the follow error from using the include()

Warning: main(): stream does not support seeking

The thing is, the file is being included correctly, so I can't understand what's wrong. What should I look for?

The funny thing is, I was doing include this way always and never had a problem. All of a sudden, I am getting this error.

Check your php.ini; there should be a couple of lines like

; Whether to allow the treatment of URLs (like [url]http://[/url] or [url]ftp://[/url]) as files.
allow_url_fopen = On

(The setting you're currently using is given by phpinfo() or ini_get('allow_url_fopen')

Hmmm, I am having the same exact problem. It was working fine and nothing was changed. Just stopped working.

PHP 4.3.1 in Win2K. Reboot did nothing. Saw in the PHP 4.3.2 release notes that was a memory corruption issue with fopen and urls that was fixed. Upgraded and still have the same problem.

Seems kinda strange that more than one person would have the same problem occur about the same time ??

Would love some insight from anyone else...

This happend when my host upgraded to 4.3.1 they soon got the patch installed 🙂

I found out that it is creating a temp file in the system temp dir for each call to include("http://whatever") and not cleaning up to itself.

I had 65,542 files in tmp at which point the whole thing blew out. After deleting the files and upgrading to 4.3.2, it is still happening. Guess, I'll have to try the RC.
