Setting a variable to another page?

Here's what I want to do. I have a page with links, and each links opens the same page. The page name is page.php, and the page with all the links is called main.php.

My page.php has a Header that says <b>Welcome to the "" Page</b>

How is it possible that when a user clicks on a link on main.php, it sends a title to the page.php? In other words, how do I echo a variable that is sent by another page? Please help me, as I am very desperate! THanks!!!

just pass the variable through the url so it comes out as

bla.php?name=joe

echo "hello " . $_GET["name"];

There's an example that will print 'hello joe'

Hope you get the idea.

thanks a bunch man, worked like a charm. one question tho...

<? echo "" . $_GET["type"]; ?>

can I use that if I don't want the hello there?

I wanted ot use

<? $_GET["type"]; ?>

but it didn't work. sorry, i'm a newbie sorta at php... thanks!

hey no problem. We all started somewhere.

Yeah, it will work. You can do that two ways

<? echo $_GET["type"]; ?>

or

<?= $_GET["type"] ?>
