video and getID3()

is it possible to capture a video image from a streaming video using php?

getID3() is the closest thing I found.

I was thinking about attempting to create a plugin that would allow one to do this, but I want to know if you can do this with an already made function.

Nope. Getting the ID3 tag works because the data is stored in very specific places from the beginning and end of the file.

I don't think you can do it through PHP unless you write something that could get the data out of every frame (like an MPEG viewer).
