Search A-Z - display results

I have a database with over 3000 records for out Dealer network. I have administrative pages which allow certain users to add/edit/delete said Dealers.

On the edit and delete pages, I want to create an alphabetical search:

A B C D E F G H I J ... T U V W X Y Z

where when someone clicks on a letter it will display the Dealers starting with that letter. Any thoughts on how to do this?

Oh ... and if possible have the results in a drop down list, where when the dealer name is clicked it will display that record. 🙂 Thanks.

SELECT * FROM dealers WHERE dealer_name LIKE '$initial%'
