Upgrade - was working now blank page

PHP was working on my machine. This morning I tried to upgrade it and it seemed a success. However when I go to look at pages that were previously working it now simply showes the doc setup and no content (<head></head> etc.

Php does seem to be working though as shown by the info page:

Any suggestions?

little more data : did a "hello world" test and it works
