sql and php

Hi all,

I have a problem. I have a file which contains the setting to create some tables automatic in my database. We will call it
data.sql.

I have access to the shell on my web sever.

The question is. how can i execute the data.sql file so that the tables are created.

I hope this makes sense.

Not sure what kind of access you need to have for this, but if your db is already created, and you just need to dump the sql into it:

mysql -hHOSTNAME -uUSER -pPASSWORD DATABASE < DUMPED_TEXTFILE.sql

Maybe that will help, also talk to your hosting company, they might have phpMyAdmin installed, if they do USE IT. If not, tell them to get it.
