Parsing Text to insert into amysql

i have the following url
http://metalgods.wavebot.net/dbdump/galaxies.txt

I want this to be added to a mysql database at regular intervals, for example every hour.
Is there any sites that can help me with this?
Also will i need to add a crontab entry to run the php file which will parse it?

you would either have to make a page to refresh ever so often but you would have to keep that web page open on a system at all times....

or make a application that runs in the background of the server/computer and have it execute a php page or even right it to look at the txt file and insert it into mysql.... but php alone might not beable to do this

Looks much like a CSV file, except perhaps for that header (before the first blank line).

So I guess (not that I know whether you'd parse it this way or not) use fgets() up to the first blank line, and then [man]fgetcsv/man for the lines after that.

And yes, a cron job would be your best bet for scheduling the task.

If you are putting it straight into a MYSQL database - cut the file to the first proper line, then use the Load Data Infile option.....
