Database Drivers

Hi Guys

Go easy on me as this is my first post 🙂 Ive just downloaded Invisionbard to my comp and I have noticed that everything that connects or interfaces with MySQL is kept in a sort of driver file and then when the PHP scripts are using it they just refer to that file.

Can someone explain what it is done as this as I have seen this a few times now and cant understand why its done like that. I believe VBulletin has the same and all the MySQL stuff is in the one file.

you mean somthing like

require("cfg.php");

???? or somthing? and has all the connection information in it???

if so its so you dont have to write that info into all the pages you just include that one page into all the other pages. so if you change somthing in that one file it updates all the files....
