Very strange problem

HI, I have a very strange problem.
I was working on a page and found out that my variables are not displaying, so I created two very simple pages:
One is an html file that have:
<form method=post action="display.php>
<input type="text" name="first_name">
<input type=submit>
</form>
the other page has only this:
your name is:

echo $first_name

All I get is "your name is:"
For a very strange reason, it doesn't display anything!!!

Any help?

This is not a "very strange reason." This is a F.A.Q. As a matter of fact, it's asked so frequently that some of us are tired of answering it. However, I'll give you a hint or two. 😉

One: go to the "Newbies" part of the forum and read the thread entitled "Newbies Forum FAQ and bookmarked threads."

I wrote the first entry, which deals with this exact problem.

Two:

echo $_POST['first_name'];

Now, even if you don't take my advice on #1, I think you'll conquer this "very strange problem." 😃
