I am trying to edit some text through an excel sheet and then upload the thing to my database (mssql)
the whole system works fine, but now the customer wants to import czech characters through this application.
the problem is that certain characters loose their annotations:

has anyone ever tried to do that or has any idea how to work this out? the problem seems to be that when PHP gets the information from the excel file it cannot process the characters and switches them to standard characters.
