cookies being overwritten

Not too sure where to ask this question so I figured that I would try out here. I am not using php to set my cookies but I am using php to manipulate them. I am using javascript to set my cookies and everything is working ok. The problem arises somewhere between 10-15 cookies(haven't done too much testing to find the exact number...will do tomorrow morning), where after a certain number of cookies it overwrites the oldest cookie created. I was wondering if there was a limit to how many cookies you can set from one domain and if there is does anyone know of a workaround....remembering that I am using javascript to set the cookies and not php. The solution that I have start to implement was to place all of my cookies into one and use a separator to distinguish my different key->values variables. Any links, direction pointing or info would be helpful.

yes there is a limit...

i believe that could be the latest one, but its a standard anyhow...

on another note: i wouldn't know why it would be removing older cookies. Could it be that its just updating cookies that have the same cookie name? does that make sense to you?

Thank you for the information that answered my question. In regards to your question on you don't know why it would be deleted the older cookie I will refer you to the document that you sent me.

"Servers should not expect clients to be able to exceed these limits. When the 300 cookie limit or the 20 cookie per server limit is exceeded, clients should delete the least recently used cookie. When a cookie larger than 4 kilobytes is encountered the cookie should be trimmed to fit, but the name should remain intact as long as it is less than 4 kilobytes. "

right i understand that, but since you are stating when you create between 10-15 cookies (less than the key number 20) the old cookies were deleted.
So based on the spec document i posted, those 10-15 cookies should work and none of them should be deleted.
So I was suggesting maybe its something with your code that is overriding an existing cookie.
