Hello! About a timer for IRC

Hello Guys,

is it possible for me to write a timer like function?
that is executing some scripts within 5 sec or 10 sec
I've read 'bout microtime, but didn't get to understand it..

You can't time things in PHP, unless they are constantly running (it will also time out after 30 seconds). Instead, you'll have to use a cronjob or timed run of that program. For more information, search Google for crontab.

sorry if I didnt' say clearly....
it was an irc automated script,
the while ( $sock )
keeps the php on and on.. until disconnection or network failure..
