[N00b] Where can I get these scripts [/N00b]

I'm busy making this counter-strike-clanpage
( which can be found @ www.kys-clan.tk crappy logo, i know:rolleyes: )

anyways, I want to add 3 things that should make the page
more dynamic

--> when i "post" news in the index, I want that people can give their comments...
--> a login-system, i tried lots of java logins, but user & pass could be found in the code 🙁, after logging in, only clanmembers
should be able to see new index
--> visitors should be able to add links ( do need to change the
directory image to a Chmod 777 ( or smth) )

when it comes to the links, it would be easiest to put it in a single-table database. you should also do this with the users so that they aren't directly in the code. as for the comment idea, u could design two tables to contain news. one table contains the actual news articles and the second table would contain all the comments with a field that links back to the article's id number.

You could either do this with text-files (Probably easier), or a Database. if you were to do it with .txt files, you would have it create one relative to whatever, then have a form that would append a comment to it, then display it on a page. You could make something like viewcomments.php?newsid=1040, and 1040.txt would be the comments, and it would just include it.
Easy with MySQL, put all the members into a table, then select from where user=$user and pass=$pass, then have a login check at the pages..
Err, depends again how you wished to do this. You could just have it add to a MySQL DB in a new row and then the links page would just display all the rows in the table.

For the links that guests can add,, I suggest incDirectory from http://scripts.incutio.com (that is assuming you have access to a MySQL database). There is a good (and simple) login script at http://www.spoono.com in the PHP tutorials section. The guys at Spoono call it .htaccess protection but it isn't really. As for the news, there are TONS of news scripts out there. If you have a MySQL database I recommend b2 from http://www.cafelogs.com because it is totally customizable. If you want to use flat files (this requires Apache and the ability to CHMOD), I recommend fusion from http://www.fusionphp.com
