what i like to do is take the time when a user enter the page then substract this time to the time i want to refresh
$time_to_refresh=6h30 $timeNow=6h00
$time_to_refresh-$timeNow=30minutes
then in 30 minute refresh the page

I believe you need javascript for that Find some documentation for setTimeout() and Date object.
