Some HTML / Display Help

Can anyone advise me on why http://www.sitexchange.net displays properly in IE6 but gets all messy in Netscape 7? It's really starting to bug me.

I know this isn't a PHP question but you guys have been great with helping me through my PHP difficulties, so I though someone might be able to lend some advice on this as well.

I took a look at your css file and found one thing you really ought to look at changing.

You have no body style defined.

My default looks like this:

body {
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
border:0
}

Why? Coz the three major browsers all have different defaults (or used to). So you set yours up testing with IE and then NN balls'd it up.

Of course, set these to what you want, but set them to something.

Did this help? Let me know. For my new php app test site (www.chippingcampdenbaptistchurch.org.uk) I think it displays OK in all browsers, unless you tell me otherwise!

Thanks for the input. I've changed my css file accordingly, though it didn't help the display issues.

Your site looks great though in both IE and Netscape. Nice work.

I MUST put NN on my local server and see why it makes such a mess of acceptable html. I can't see anything wrong with yours.

The app that produced the page you looked at is a few weeks away from release.

Almost the whole page is PHP/mySQL generated. Design the site and let a monkey update it via simple forms in an admin area.

It's more likely to be the other way around: IE is buggier in its support of CSS, and it happily renders broken HTML.
