Is it possible to have PHP pre-load short audio mp3 sound effects? Example/link? If not, what do you recommend? Thanks
You weren't very specific. What do you mean by load...? Do you mean load it onpageload or when a link is clicked?
If it is small, just wack the HTML load code in the script and it'll load like that.
I don't think preloading is possible with PHP...
Preload it for what?
Like zingbats mentioned, PHP was not built for this.
Are you making audio rollovers? If so, JavaScript may be more suited for your needs.
Preload it so when the user click on a button, it instantly plays a sound instead of downloading or whatever. Ok...I didn't think PHP could do this...but I've noticed a bunch of javascript image preloaders @ hotscripts. Think I could just use one of those to preload sounds? Thanks
Your best bet would just be to stream the audio...

i agree...you can use an m3u file to stream the mp3...this is supported by most audio programs
Hmm...I thought the user had to have a fast connection for streaming...I'm between .wav's and .mp3's. Whenever I play .mp3's, they're all choppy and sound horrible...but maybe it's my old slow box. Just weighing my options...Comments?
