New user of PHP...need hlp.

Hi,
I am new to PHP and just have downloaded and made it run. Now I am downloading MySql from mysql.com.
I wana know about other prequisites needed to make all this work. I'm using Windows 2000 and IIS.

I already have the knowledge of Java, VB, SQL etc. What is the basic code in PHP to connecting to MySql.

What should i do after downloading MySql.....i mean where to sftart. I'm downloading 'mysql-4.1.0-alpha.zip'.
I even dont know what it looks like.

From experience and from others, you'll be better off with Apache.

or go for one of them all-in-one installers , like 'easy php' or something. Installing seperatly can be a nightmare at first although if you crack it then it's a good learning experience. The all-in-one option is good if you just want to get up & running .....
