Doing maths with unix timestamp?

I was used to using time/date now Ive switched over to unix timestamp and wondered how Id do mathimatical sums.

For example, I store the users last login, I would like to compare it to the current date and give off how many days/hours/minutes they've been gone.

I read that its something todo with MK time, is there a function that could help me? Can anyone give an example of a sum code.

Well, if you used say, time() to store, then you can obtain time() again and subtract to find the difference in seconds.

Once you have the number of seconds difference, you can calculate the rest.

Ive already looked on google, nothing there.

The time I want to compare are

time (IN THE D😎 and time (DYNAMIC OFF THE SERVER)

time(); is a jumble on numbers, simply doing...
timeago = $time - dbquery->time
Wont work properly, it will take a bunch of numbers from another bunch of numbers but wont actually work correctly with the stamp.

Store the current time using time() in PHP, in an INT column
Compare by using time() in PHP.
