Populating select form fields with date & time

Hi all,

I am a little stumped on a bit of php I need. I have a form, which amongst other fields, has two select fields - date & time.
What I want, is to populate the select fields with the following:

date field to contain date in format dd-mm-yyyy listing all dates from the present date (at the time of viewing) to 31-12-2005.

time field to contain time in format hh:mm (24 hr) listing all times around the clock in 15 min intervals (i.e 12:00, 12:15, 12:30)

Is this possible using PHP? I would have thought so, but can't think how to go about achieving these results.

Sounds pretty trivial...

Amusingly enough, mktime() will quite happily let you specify a date of 54 January, 2003. It will assume you meant 23 February. But that's another angle...

The date would be the harder one. But it would still be an easy loop. time() is now. So is strtotime('0 days'). strtotime('1 days') is one day from now. strtotime('2 days') is two days from now. The loop is obvious. Take the timestamp that strottime() returns and use date() to convert it into a string in the format you want. Continue until that string represents 31 December. There are quicker and leaner methods, but that's one.

The time doesn't even need time functions. A pair of nested loops, the outer one counting hours and the inner one counting quarter hours.

Thanks for that - it helped to make me get a clearer idea of what I am doing. I've gotten the date function working nicely now, so will go on to the time function. Thanks!
