View/detect code?

Hi ~ i'm new to the forum and a beginner/intermediate php coder. Now that i've introduced myself, lol, here's my question for you guys...

I'm almost 100% certain there is no way to view php code on another website (legitimately), but is there any way to detect harmful scripts or at least be able to block the code from executing? I've been dealing with a lot of punks lately and now they have created a blasphemous website. I need to be able to view the site to report it properly. I am mildly aware of some of the malicious scripts that can be run and I'm afraid to go to the site and I can't just report that I "think" these people "might" be doing this. Unfortunately, I have found you have to be a victim to receive any justice. Any help is appreciated.

there isn't any php code that is gonna hurt your machine, since the code is run off the server

maybe give us an example of what type of malicious code you are talking about

I don't have any "hands-on" experience with these, but i have seen in several TOS agreements stating to not use "harmful php scripting". I've also read places where php was used to install java scripts, additional components, keyloggers, trojans, etc. I also read a couple years ago about a concern being about php being able to install viruses. Maybe I've been reading the "x-files" or something, but with the power of php, there's got to be something malicious you can do with it 🙂

not likely, since ALL php code is run off of the server running it

i'm not sure of your sources, but i think likely that they are incorrect

ok.. thanks guys... i appreciate it. In the midst of my posting i received a virus alert saying that i had a trojan in my temp internet files, lol. thought that was kind of ironic. Anyway, I'm off to clean that up, then i will check out the site i mentioned. thanks again
