forms question

i have a table with two cols

left hand column contains 5 rows each wit ha text box the sixth contains a submit button

the right hand column is rowspan 6 and contains a text area and a submit

i cant seem to get two forms where one is for the textarea and one is for the text boxes.

is there some way i can do this when these components are so close to each other??

You could try splitting the table apart. Surround each table with the form tags, then position the tables so that they are next to each other.

example:

<tr>
<td>
<form action="page1.php">
<table width="100%">
   ...
</table>
</form>
</td>
</tr>

<tr>
<td>
<form action="page2.php">
<table width="100%">
   ...
</table>
</form>
</td>
</tr>
</table>

what he is meaning is to create
<form>textbox side in a table with submit button </form>

<form>textarea side in the other table with submit button</form>

but make sure the submit button is inside of it's respected <form> tag

he wants the user to be able to choose between submitting the textboxes or the textarea with 2 submit buttons (one for textboxes and the other for textarea). . .from what i have deducted that is.

if you rephrase your post here i will be glad to help you as i have done many form making but just not much on the mail topic which is why i am getting hepl on it

it wasn't my post. . .i think you were talking to me though. . .i will try to explain it a little better to you....

page.html will contain textboxes and a textarea. . .

he wants to split the text boxes up on one side of the page (left) and the text area on the other (right). Below both sides he wants to have a submit button that will submit to 2 different pages (one for the textboxes and the other for the textarea) for which ever the users chooses to enter data in (textbox or area).

He needs to have 2 forms. . .one encompassing the textboxes and that submit and the other encompassing the textarea and submit.

Hope you can make something out of that. . .it isn't hard. . .he is just having some trouble understanding. .

yea it is easy for us but he is the one needing help. . .here is my html code

After all you need to do is change where each form posts to and align them side-by-side.
