Which Editor, and how to set it up?

Hello again fella's,

Well, over the last few days I've tried just about all the PHP editors I could find and have had the same problem with most.

Can you all reccommend your favourite editor for editing and testing on your own machine, also, which PHP version are you running etc?

All I want to do is setup a simple PHP editor, such as HTML kit and then test on my own machine before uploading to my WebHost. I'm getting something really wrong as the $POST and $GET arrays aren't available!

Hi,

I am using Java text editor (JEXT). I test by just keeping a few browserwindows open, and putting a number of echo""; and print_r commands in my code where I think bugs may occur.

I use dreamweaver MX or TextPad. I test by uploading and refreshing. . .i do not have an inhouse webserver.

Do you run PHP on a webserver on your local machine, on a remote machine, or using the PHP interpreter?

I run my own server so I am editing and saving the file riught on the server since I have a root connection

I have not had any problems with Zend. (sometimes id can be slow in windows).
