Thimbnails from blob

Hi

I have followed the Florian tutorial to set up an image db, which works really well, but i want to create thumbnails from the data stored in the db.

I have read a lot of threads, and i still none the wiser. My server has only the GD library not ImageMagic.

Any example code would be extremely helpful.
