what are the pros and cons??
I ask because im developing a small medical intranet proggy using Flash as gui, and mysql as storage.. ofcourse, php as the middleman.. i wanted just this 3 things installed on my clients PC. but sadly, php has to have a server (unless i wana rewrite my code and use complicated CLI methods) ... so apache was my current choice because it's well known to be reliable.. however, it feels like im openning a nut with a sledge hammer.. hehe.. or, then again.. am i?
So, i wanted a light and reliable solution for my server needs...
Some current info on my app:
-Uses php 4.3.2
-Mysql 4.0
-Flash MX (wrapped with flash studio)
-Networkable with atleast 2 pc's and max of 10 pcs
-Accessible via internet (another reason for -using apache)
-each copy of my app communicates with the server every 3 seconds with atleast 1 KB of data being sent to php on every interval..
-i like milk in my coffee
badblue must be ok with these features. 🙂
PS
would it really be practical to have a lighter app than apache?
