PHP and forms

Is there any way to force PHP into an xhtml compliancy mode? This is becase I have a form in my page, and PHP automatically inserts the session id into the html in a hidden input. This is a problem becuase php uses the name attribute which is depreciated in xhtml 1.0, therefore preventing validation through http://validator.w3.org. Any help? Thanks in advance.

they replaced it with the id attribute

i don't think it will be REPLACED, as just about ALL languages require the name attribute to grab variables from forms/etc...

all I know right now in my currently sleepy state is that the validator no like my page because there is no id attribute putin by PHP.

php could care less about what html you use, as long as you have the name attribute, put the id attribute in and it will be fine, it is simple html, not php

not yet, because the tag that is causing the error is not in the source before PHP processes it. It is however there after.

I did get a lead from a person at codewalkers.com that it could have something to do with this HERE.

So hopefully that weill get me somewhere.
