How many fields for php/mysql table...

Is it common to make a table with 15+ fields. Nothing out of the ordinary to do that right?

For example, I want to put id, fname, lname, title, address1, address2, address3, city, state, zip, pwork, pext, phome, pcell, email, status - all into one table. Obviously I have no idea what I'm doing but know that I want to get it right from the start so that when I know what I'm doing I don't have to correct too much.

15 is fine.

But depending on the application you might consider breaking out the phone numbers and emails to their own tables. What about fax numbers or pager numbers? Put them in their own table and a person can have as many numbers as they want. Likewise, what if two people (family mambers) share the same number? Then you could have a many to many relation between people and phones.

But it very much depends on the app. Limiting the number of phones is fine in most cases.
