:: time difference for auction

I just trying to make a simple auction script.

How do you calculate date ..

I know this
$now=time();
$end=sometime..

How do i calculate how many days,hours,min,secs left to expire the auction list. if it is just days left then just i wan to display
ie.monday,14,July. if it is less then 24 hours just display how many hours left etc..

One way of getting time is to use

$today = date("H:i:s");

which will display time as e.g 13:10:21

take a look in teh php.net documentation

under

date() and time()

You should be able to use mktime() functino to caluclate how long left
