How would i go about making a news scanner?
What i'm trying to do, is to make a little box on my site, witch extracts specific news from another site.
Lets say imdb.com;
I would like to show “CURRENT TOP TEN - IN THEATERS” from http://us.imdb.com/NowPlaying/ … In, lets say, a list form so it would look something like this;

Title1(linked to imdb’s info ‘bout the movie – and a rollover with the plot)
-Director1
Title2(linked to imdb’s info ‘bout the movie – and a rollover with the plot)
-Director2
ect…

Now, you of couse don’t have to make the whole script, but just the basics, since I’m just trying to learn. Thx a lot.
(I'm still a noob at PHP but can manage the basics like form handeling, mysql db input/output...)

Ask them if they have an rss feed that you can use otherwise your doing somethign highly illegal

No it's NOT illegal, as long as i say where it's from. Like when CNN tells a story that AP have written. Or when a newspaper runs an artikle reuter have written. All i have to do, is write; source: IMDb.com and link it.
