IP Adress or ??

My site has a system for members where they join and add there flight hours for the flying lessons. The site is open to the public and lately I have had a lot of people joining up with fake names such as "DSDSA" etc and fake emails address.

I will be creating a system such as email is sent with a link which is validates the member when joining.

But is there way where I can create somthing temporally which grabs the ip adress so that can be saved in a database.

So I can catch this idiot?

You can use $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] but be aware that if this person is on a dialup then they will more than likely have a dynamic IP.

Right, most real names have consonant (spelt wrong) then a vowel in a pattern through their words:

Alex
bob
jane
sam

etc.

so, if u had a system that looked for that?!

you do get names like:
Julie
Mary
John

etc which have more that one consonant together.

I can't think of any that have 3 consonants in one go. Perhaps if u created a system that doesn't allows more that 4 consonants in a row.. that may help somewhat

I dunno how to do this.. can anyone else help?

Lightfoot, but I haven't thought of one that has five consonants yet. Doesn't mean there aren't any, though (Incidentally, of "Mary", "John" and "Julie", only one has two consecutive consonants).

I'd stick with checking email addresses and sending out confirmation requests to those that parse as valid unless someone can come up with a sufficiently internationalised "this is/is not a name" algorithm that won't refuse people named "Mbeke" or "Rhydderch" (one with three consecutive consonants).

To my knowledge, i think this is the best way cuz grabbing the ip-address and writing a script to ban the particular ip-address does'nt really work out.
Trooper has already mentioned regarding the dynamic-ip thing.

Do you have an idea of writing a script like validating the members e-mail by providing a link and so on??need any help, ask me.

I hope people might have different ideas on this topic
