Chat tutorials?

Does anybody have any real helpful tutorials that would assist me in making a PHP chat server, i don't know PHP so it'll be a learning experience🙂

PHP Chats dont work that well. Because the browser must be refreshed.

But you could go to http://hotscripts.com and check for PHP Chat Scripts, and view them..

Most of the time a Chat is made in Java.

Yeah, PHP-Based chat should be your last resort. Have tried to create and implement one on my website but... too bad for a chat room. Cant really chat well there. :o

I am considering Flash since Java can be very slow to load.
or it's just my connection speed problem?

I think flash would be slower than Java. Java isnt really that slow. But it depends on how big the Java file is. Most arent that big.
