Hi. I have installed Foxserv 3.0, and inside Foxserv installset, the MySQL database, version 4.2.2 is.
My problem is when connecting to a database with any php code.
Even phpMyAdmin.
When you first install FoxServ with MySQL, the default username is root, and no password.
That doesn't work. But if I use root@localhost as a username, I get in.
I found out that I should try to uninstall and reinstall Foxserv 3.0, so I did. With Uninstall programs from windows control panel.
After that was finished, I restarted my Computer (Windows XP Professional as OS), and deleted the file FoxServ on the c partition manually. Then I reinstalled Foxserv 3 on the same location, and I got the old databases I had earlier, and it has not changed as to the username@localhost problem.
On my computer, I have two network cards, one network card is the IP 127.0.0.1 and the other one has a public IP address.
When looking on the admin program for MYSQL, I can see that it is connecting to the public IP address, and network card.
If this has something to do with it, I do not know. But I thought I should mention it.
I also tried to create a new user, and granted all privileges to that user, and gave it a password. I can not log into the database from phpMyAdmin with this username and password. But if I skip the password, I get in.
Someone was very kind and made a php script for my page, and this is not working on my server, but it works on his.
He uses version 4.2.1 and I am using 4.2.2, is that a problem?
I do not know. Do you.
I am a newbie with Apache, MySQL and php, and I would really be gratefull if you could help me. If you happend to live in Bergen, Norway, PLEASE give me a call on my mobilephone, because the I really would like to speak to you. (My mobile: 98209862).
Thanks, that's about it.
