[Resolved] sending and xml file to another server

Hi every one,

I'm writing an application that we are using payfuse to handle credit card transactions. This requires us to send an XML file to the payfuse servers as a field in an POST submit. I know how to phrase the XML file but I currently do no know how to send the data over to the payfuse servers?

My guess is that I have to do this with the header() function but I'm not realy sure.

if any one could point me in the right direction I would be very greatful.

fopen() or, more likely, fsockopen(), cURL extensions will work also.

You'll want to open a socket on port 443 ( HTTPS ) to their PayFuse server, and send POST headers with the XML file attached.

Make note you'll need PHP >= 4.30 to use HTTPS with fopen() and fsockopen().

If your host doesn't have cURL support built-in to PHP, see if you can access it through a call to system() ( usually /usr/local/bin/curl on most *nix systems I've seen )

Would it be possible to get the code that you used to implement the PayFuse API in PHP????

I am new to PHP and really have no idea where to begin, but have a shopping cart in PHP and PayFuse account that I would like to use automatic processing on.

Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!!!! 🙂

Actualy Payfuse has been realy closed mouthed about how to interface with them. I had some genneral information from them but you can't realy do anything unless you contact them.

It realy stinks so I can't realy help you.

I understand -- I've had a hard time communicating with them, they are about the only gateway I know that can't provide a 1,2,3 guide to implementing the API using PHP or ASP. Or just giving you the API and saying "put your info here in this part of the page".

Two more questions:

Did you get it working?

If so, did they walk you through the setup?

If they did I will call them and ask for detailed instructions, not just a 600+ page API Reference in PDF.

Honestly I'm still waiting for my client to finish setting up their account before I can get my hands on the API...

Ah! Ok, well I'll keep you posted if I figure something out! Please do the same if you don't mind?

I will tell you this -- the API is a pain in the a**. They give you a 600 page API Reference pdf file that has C++ and Java COM objects to deal with, then you're expected to figure most of it out and program the API interface (they give some XML examples, but not how to deal with them). No good referrences to PHP, HTML, or ASP.

I'm beginning to thind we should have went with a different gateway (easier implementation), but the boss saw the low price and didn't investigate into the integration difficulties!

Oh, well, I'll keep researching and will post if I make any breakthroughs.
