What Book to Get??!!

I am looking to learn about PHP code and am looking for a book that can take me from beginner to at least some what advanced. I am a web designer so I do know a little about the code and have worked with ASP and ColdFusion a little bit. So I am not a complete idiot. Can anyone here make any recommendations and maybe tell me why it is a good book. Thanks.

i personally suggest php 4 bible or php black book

Wrox Press - Professional PHP Programming

It's a good book for someone with some programming experience like you and there are lots of code snippits included in the book 🙂

For what reasons do you suggest using php 4 bible or php black book? Both of these are a similar price... I've narrowed it down to three(or 4)

Wrox - PHP for Beginners
PHP Black Book
PHP 4 Bible

and then there's the other Wrox, PHP for Professionals,
but i would start with the beginner book...

php black book has lots of good tutorials on materials often overlooked by other books. php 4 bible is just a very introductory easy-to-read guide that covers a good amount of material on most key topics.
