[Resolved] Max query length in mySQL?

Is there a maximum query length in mySQL? If so, is there any way around it, when sending a query from a PHP script?
I need to select everything from a mySQL DB, with lots of 'where' clauses, but when it is populated, it cuts out at (I'm guessing) 256 chars.

Any ideas?

Umm, 256 characters is way too short. Most engines will take queries at leask 4KB in length, and most will take even larger queries.

Store your query in a string variable and echo it before you execute the query and see if something (like a stray single quote) is cutting if off.

Or post some of your code here for us to review.

Yes, it seems that I really didn't investigate the problem well enough - it turned out to be 2 problems: firstly, my query (which I had been echoing to the screen in order to test it's interaction with the D😎 had incorrect syntax in it.

Second, I think that the CMD window which I am using directly with the DB can only have 254 chars pasted into it in one go... (i've actaully just tested that, and it is right...)
