Hi i am a complete and utter n00b when it comes to php and i seriously need some pushing and prodding in the right direction.
I am currently looking at retrieving my warcraft 3 stats from blizzards website and displaying them on my own page.
I have looked through the forums and managed to find out how to open the webpage remotely and display its html content. I have also looked and seen a lot of people mention using fgets and various other things to isolate the data that i require.
The html that i am wanting to get my data from can be viewed at Here in HTML form ( from the script i have bashed together to display the page ) and Here in their original form on blizzards website
The specific data i want to get from the Blizzard / Battle.net webpage is the Wins and Losses from all the races and the total win / loss and percentage.
I am using
<?php
$url = "http://www.battle.net/war3/ladder/war3-player-profile.aspx?Gateway=Northrend&PlayerName=Peasant-Power";
$source = show_source($url);
echo $sstr;
?>
That is what i am using to display the HTML in the first link, but what i can't understand is what / how i can get the data i want from all of that html, I have tried using the strip_tags but cannot seem to get it to work and am really struggling to get to grips with the expressions and which ones i need and how to use them.
I am not asking anyone to do this for me although i haven't got time to burn i really really wanna do ths myself but any suggestions in regards to the method and commands i need to use for this would really be appreciated.
Kindest Regards
Edd
