Retrieving records by date

Hello,

I have a option box with a list of weekending dates, I am also displaying the last 2 wks of records on my page. What I need help with is: I want to be able to select a date in the option box and display the information for that week, replacing the info that is already there, and not go to another page. Is this something as simple as making a new sql query and displaying that query. I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just do a select on the db

SELECT data
FROM table
WHERE date >= $variable
AND date <= ($varialbe +7)

there $variable comes from the drop down..
