Multiple domains in apache on windows XP

I am using 192.168.1.100 for the local machine, with no local DNS config. I have managed to get one domain working on apache under virtual hosts. I am trying to get multiple domains working.

I have tried using Listen 8080 etc with the <virtualhost 192.168.1.100:8080> etc. I keep getting the an error message no virtual hosts can be found.😕

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this working with multiple domains as I am using apache on a local machine for testing purposes before going live on a real host.

What do you mean?
you have to have something like this in httpd.conf
NameVirtualHost *

<VirtualHost *>
ServerName [url]www.domain.tld[/url]
DocumentRoot /www/domain
</VirtualHost>

You should use * to listen to all address and all port 80 requests, and also unless you type a domain like:
http://www.mydomain.com:8080
It will actually put out a request for port 80 which is the regular HTTP port. I still dont understand your question, so can you restate it?

I Want to use apache for testing multiple sites with out connecting to the internet. It is for testing on a local host. The local host has been given an IP address on an internal network of 192.168.1.100

I have put 2 domains in the virtual hosts, I can only get one site to show locally😕

I have tried what you have suggested without success, I must be missing something in the httpd.conf

YOu can't do that

Your IP address has been assigned to you by your ISP

the ip address of apache when you are not connected to the net is 127.0.0.1

In order to use the 192.168.1.100 IP you will have to be connected to the net
