hi there ya all,
i posted this in "browse local.." as a end statement, so here to start a new thread on the goal rather than the problem, i post it under a new thread...
My Goal is to create a Upload with a real progress bar.
My Plan is to before upload, get the name and size of the localfile
start upload, then monitor the filesize on the server and compare it to the local file size and their you have your progress bar!
no I managaed to get this to work , however I have to have two browser windows open , one with the uploading script and one with the progress bar,
But it may not work on the net as the progress bar needs ro be refreshed immidiatly after show the bar state.
also the fuile is uploaded into a temp directory on submit, the script then copies the temp file from the server to the specified folder.
does any body know of how to bypass the temp folder?
I'm thinking I'll need to go with the FTP functions of PHP.
let me know of you insights?
