How to license my scripts?

Hi all!

I have written a big script which is a comercial selling at $200/server. I need to find a way to license it so that after purchasing a license the user can only install and use it on one server IP and domain so they cannot give it to all their friends and use it on multiple servers etc. without buying additional olicenses. I have IonCube Encoder to stop them removing my licensing, but how to license it in the first place? I don't want to have to connect to a remote server if possible, as a downed server would mean the script won't work.

Any suggestions?

Do you want help on the legal side of licensing scripts... or the tech. side of making sure they're not pirated?

I'm looking for help on the tech side of making sure the scripts are not pirated right now. I will be asking legal questions in a more relavant place some time in the near future 🙂

The Zend Encoder ( www.zend.com ) and Zend SafeGuard Suite ( http://zend.com/store/products/zend-safeguard-suite.php ) provide excellent solutions.

You can limit your scripts to make them run only for a certain amount of time / only on certain IP addresses / hostnames, and lots of other stuff.

I do not intend to use Zend, mainly because a lot of my customers are using PHPAccelerator or MMCache and therefore Zend won't work for them. I need an IonCube-compatible solution if possible?
