Temporaraily pause PHP

Hi I have a window popup to print an order but I need the window to pause for 5 seconds whilst the background window updates the database.

Is there are way to pause php for 5 secondsand then continue...

So the popup window opens and pauses on say line 3 for 5 seconds and then continues.

Note though, that ALL of PHP pauses... so no updating will be done while its sleep()ing...

make sure you flush() between each sleep()

sleep(5) would pause for 5 seconds.

Srry, should have clarified that, all of PHP FOR THAT REQUEST, ie other pages will still work for other people.

Do your queries really take 5 seconds to update teh database...? Maybe you should post your query so we can see if we can optimize that... that seems like an awefully long time... must be a big complicated query...

Hello,

Right what happening is I have a button Save & Print Delivery note.

When clicked a popup is made which needs to show the updated order.... in the mean time the main window is updating the database. 😉

Therefore I need to make sure the background window has fully loaded before the popup. 🙂
