I had a quick question for someone. I have this site I am building for a customer and I wanted to use an email form on their "contact us" page. I built the form with a name, email, subject, and comment fields but the only problem is I don't know where to go from there. I tried to do one along time ago and failed miserably (it probably also had to do with my source of information for making it work).

I just wanted to know if any one could give me some easy steps on how to install the php code in my form and anything else I might need to do to make this thing happen.

It is actually quite easy. you need to send your form to a php site, where the mail is sent. so you either have the code in the same site as the form or send it to a second page. lets say you do that: the action of your form is then mail.php
the site mail.php looks like this:

//first you tell the script which adress you want the form to be sent to

$to = "emailadress";

//then you use the mail function. The variables $subject and $ text
//you take from the form (the names of the fields)


mail($to, $subject, $text);
?>

thats all
Did it work?
you could then write something like "your email has been sent" or so.

I am just getting a hang of all this stuff. It is exciting for me but at the same time equaly confusing. To be honest I am just getting to really understand plain HTML. I didn't realize the importants to learning code untill earlier this year and I am looking forward to the day when I will be able to design my sites and have them php driven.
