How to convert to Chinese?

Hi,
We have an existing system written in english using PHP. Now we want to convert the whole system into Chinese. The thing which we are looking at are:
1) Display to the user should be in chinese.
2) User inputs should be in chinese
3) Storing the data in MY SQL should be in chinese.

Please help us out if any body have an idea on it and what are the things are to be taken care of for achieving the task from the existing system.

I am developing a similar system in Japanese. If you have installed with '--enable-mbstring', your job will be much easier. You can read about the Multi-byte string functions here: http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.mbstring.php

As for MySQL, I have had no difficulties using phpMyAdmin to input the text directly into the db - either the script, or the db converts everything into html entities for you. If you can't use phpMyAdmin, then you'll probably have to call htmlentities() yourself.

MySQL also supports different languages internally, though I am unsure if Chinese is among them. Check the documentation.

This should not be hugely difficult... main questions are:

Are you doing Traditional or Simplified Chinese (or both?)
Will you use Unicode, Big5, GB, or one of the weird variants like HKSCS?
Do you have any multi-language requirements?

I have same problem ...
Developed whole project in english and want to convert in japanese. Can any body will guide me to get done this task.

My user will entered the data in japanese format.
I just want to process and convert it into to japanese format.

I can help you in both Chinese Simplified and Chinese Traditional, Even input both of them in one html-form and display both of them in one page.

Would someone show me how to setup Chinese with :
Apache 2.0, PHP 5 and MySQL 4?

I think they work individually :
phpMyAdmin can display database content in Chinese char.
Apache can display Chinese char from html page.

However, all Chinese char become "???" when I get data out thru query.

It is traditional Chinese char.

Please help and thanks a lot.
