Problem with open_basedir restriction

Ok, whenever I try to open a file (in this case DB.php) via my PHP script ( /home/share/e/synthpatch/public_html/rennmech/reviewTest.php ) either by 'include', 'require_once' or however else .. I receive the errors:

Warning: open_basedir restriction in effect. File is in wrong directory in /home/share/e/synthpatch/public_html/rennmech/reviewTest.php on line 4

Warning: Failed opening '/usr/share/pear/DB.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /home/share/e/synthpatch/public_html/rennmech/reviewTest.php on line 4

phpinfo() tells me the open_basedir is:
/home/share/e/synthpatch/:/home/share/c/www/php_sessions

Which shouldnt interefere with my file,
/home/share/e/synthpatch/public_html/rennmech/reviewTest.php
because the file is part of the directory tree right?

What is going on here?

why do you have a slash before home? If home is your root dir, there should not be a slash before it. And if it isn't, you may want to put the root dir there.
I really don't know much about this, but you would be better off with just putting the script you want to access in the same directory as this other page, then just call its name
include ("DB.php");
I am not sure what is going on with all those directory trees, but the more relative links you can manage the better, it seems.

I'm not sure the slash should matter in this case.

The pages are on a hosted server, not my own .. so I am
unable to change the configuration settings. :eek:

The main issue is.. the file is in the directory tree (subdirectory) of an open_basedir directory as it should be, however when running the script - an open_basedir error is returned.
