Hello all. I'm looking for online catalogs of high quality icons. I don't even mind paying for them, but I'm having a heck of a time finding high quality stuff. Everything is pages of junk done in "Windows Paint" on the "freebie web graphics" sites. I'm looking for something about the quality of the icons built into the newest versions of Windows XP, and some of the nice vector graphics in the Red Hat graphical config screens and stuch.
There are sites like photodisk.com that sell high quality stock photography on a "pay per use" basis, I'm looking for something similar for icons.
I'm looking for icons to integrate into a web app that will need to be about 50x50 pixels or so. I've talked to some "graphic design firms" but they want waaaaaaaaaaaay too much to take on the job. I really only need about 4 to 6 icons and would be willing to pay $25-$50 each for them, which I think is plenty for images of this size.
The web app is a control panel for a camera. I'm specifically looking for icons to represent these functions:
- Zoom in
- Zoom out
- View full screen (and stubsequently "View Split Screen")
- View in detatched window
I've found stuff that would work off of other camera control panels, but I'd have to "rip off" someone else's work, and what I've seen isn't very high quality anyway.
Any suggestions on where I can look for this stuff? 😕
