Check for Broken Links

Hello,
I'm trying to determine if there is a way to check all the links throughout a site and let me know if any of them are broken. If there are some that are broken, those links and the page they are on are sent to me in an email.

Is this possible with PHP? I've tried it with ColdFusion and it's partially working but it's not acting properly sometimes and since I'm becoming more and more an advocate of PHP, I figured I'd give it a shot.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated....

The simplier way would be to test if the page can acutally be reached. Better: you could retrieve data from the http request, and the try to see if this is a 'not found' error. I think you should take a look at the CuRL functions of PHP : http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.curl.php
