Well then, get the word out, firebird is free, they can download it too!!!
I've noticed that the adds only seem to show up in IE. So if you are using Mozilla/Netscape or anything else you are safe. Maybe it's time to switch browsers for good. Also the adds don't show up using IE from a Mac.

that's cuz it's a proprietary thing in IE 6 browser

Børkínätør, huh?! Well, it does make everything clear now coz I was so confuse on why BuzzLY, dalescop and some others start to use those "fancy" characters.
for the "Ad" or IntelliText stuff..., this is just wrong... luckily my username has nothing to do with anything... at least for now. hehe...
why dont they just convert php function to a link. So, when you typed die(), those people who need to read what the heck is die() can just directly click on it!? nice, isnt it?
[edit]In re: Weedpacket's post ... [/edit]
We could hope so. With so many, um, what, "normal" folks using MS web-based technologies (msn 'Explorer', msnbc.com, hotmail) to name a few, and Windows Update springs to mind...
...and with so many anti-browser practices (are any M$ pages W3C compliant ... and what about their treatment of Opera ... ?) What're the real chances of any large movement of people away from IE ?

Actually they added a new bbCode tag called man that does what you want. It convertes the word to a link to php.net/manual/en/.
i.e [man]die/man
He?! Sorry for that coz never heard bout man before... hahaha ...
Just wanna give it a try here [man]error_reporting[/man]
the way I understand it and the only way I have seen it is in my own posts - If this is in fact the way that it is and only effects my posts for me and your posts for you then I have no problem with it as I know what I wrote.
And realistically I don't even mind them normally, I have been with companies who want to you very invasive ads and to me this is very minor. I know that a double green line under a word means an ad has been placed ther acknowledge move on. IT'S JUST THAT SIMPLE

it is in everyones posts, when it was enabled, it targets certain words
hey now I know why I've never seen them.
As far as I'm concerned any web developer using IE for their own surfing deserves what they get, and may the pop-ups be with you.
wow - that was weird.
it took all three threads in dalecosp's sig to figure out that I'm not seeing what they see because I'm on konq.
and then i realised that back when I first started using PHP it was pretty much a linux-only thing.
the fact I had to read so many posts goes to show how many windows people use PHP these days.
Thats cool. The less ASP out there, the better.
Rock on.
And the other thing that would confuse is that it's no longer noticeable by anyone, and no longer under discussion.
I guess we complained enough that they decided against continuing the experiment. The "Intellitext" was only here for a week or two, and then faded into a dim memory.
BTW, Welcome to phpbuilder. On Windows (hey depends what's up, right?) I use IE, Mozilla, or Opera. When on FreeBSD, I'm now trying Opera instead of Netscape. How's Konq? Do you like KDE, or is it just that your distro gave it to you?
I guess it's becase my distro gave it to me. I like it quite a bit, although doesn't feel as polished as I remember it.
I use it as my web browser and file manager and I dont have a desire to get anything - it pretty much is exactly what I want.
At work I use firebird on w2k, and that makes the internet experience a whole lot nice. ie6 is crap.
