Print () vs Echo "" vs Echo ()

I have read a couple of books about this, but I still don't know which to use when. Print () and Echo () can only accept one argument each time they are used, but Echo "" can do more.

When should I use which, or is it just a case of personal preference? Any examples of "best uses" come to mind?

If you look up echo in the manual, you will find a link to a page with an explanation coauthored by Rasmus Lerdorf, who created PHP.

So far, I haven't found any difference between the capabilities of the two. I, myself, prefer to use echo "", since it does take one less keystroke to type.

really simple example from manual:

$var = true;
 ($var) ? print('true'): print('false');
echo "<br>";
echo $var;
