Server is very slow :(

I have installed apache 1.3.28, php 4.2.3 and Mysql 4.0.x with the extensions for the Oracle enabled.

Unfortunately, i observed that the server is getting slower while accessing php pages that make some query to the Mysql Database server.

I can't explain that delay, can you?

Start benchmarking your script, see where the slowdowns are.

Are you running big huge SQL queries that could slow things down?

The whole program that i have created runs properly on other systems.

I installed that server lately to change it a bit but the half(program) behaves strangely. It fails to load a page(Web page found, please while loading).

The half program runs properly the rest disappoints me 🙁 🙁

Well, this is something that's easier to debug when you're sitting in front of the thing.

If indeed it were a case of the exact same script running on 2 different servers, two things come to mind:

• what are the hardware profiles of the 2 servers
• have you checked the error log

Start timing the various sections of your script like superwormy mentionned.

the program works fine on various systems(win98secVer, Unix).

Can it be a server misconfiguration?
