ip-blocking? any problems with ip-hiding or something like that?

i heard that one can hide his ip or something like that, ip-masking or i dont know. 😉
so is there a problem with this if i wanna code a ip-blocking visitor counter?

Yes; all they need to be doing is using a proxy server; the IP you'll get will be the proxy's, not theirs. Next time they try visiting they may be using a different proxy IP. And of course, other people may be using the same proxy.
