Postgres date time format

The Postgres db has been setup with ISO INPUT, andhe time object in the table just like this:

2003-07-28 16:36:20.908419-06

How can I get time format in my php page like this

2003-07-28 16:36:20 without "908419-06"

Try

echo substr( $date , 0,19 );

It should work if I counted properly 🙂
